Title: 83 kx125 needle cross referance
Post by: buzzy613 on June 15, 2015, 02:05:37 AM: I'm working on an 83 kx125 and the needle that was in the vm34ss was a 6dh7 apposed to the 5dh92 and I was wondering if anyone has a cross reference to being close to the original needle or if someone has the original needle that is willing to sell.

Post by: motopunk on June 15, 2015, 02:05:54 PM: you need the correct measurements of the stock kx125 needle , length, diameter, cone.... with all these measurements you can order a needle that will maybe have a diferent signing, but the same measurements...

Post by: b4himdude on June 22, 2015, 05:52:23 PM: i just went though kinda what youre going through with that needle thing. the chart confuses the hell out if me. if your patient and let them know what your trying to accomplish as well as be humble about what you dont understand the guys at pjmotorsports will spend some time with ya on it. and i even went to my local kawi shop and did some talking to the staff in the service dept . i didnt feel so bad after doing that, theyre calling keihin(or whoever their keihin rep is) tomorrow. obviously im not the only one that chart intimidates. good luck...

They did recommend a keihin 35 pwk which is tempting if I can find a used one in good shape. I asked about the stock needle and I got told they discontinued it. In my email I asked if they could cross reference one. To be honest I'm more displeased with them then pleased.

Post by: b4himdude on July 07, 2015, 12:31:12 PM: pjmotorsports has been straight forward with me and pleasant. i still cant give them a cross reference that i feel would be somewhere in the ball park. i just look at the chart and then at the stamped numbers on my present jet needles and then at the chart again then at my needle again and then i read some more chart and think to myself . if i cant even guess the number that matches the current replacement for the keihin part number im running within a + or - range of affordable to me for testing how the hell am i supposd to give a whack at the keihin part number im hoping to get that i dont have . i need "the great guru of all things i need to learn on my shoulder for this one. the book isnt out there for sale neither. if it is im googling the wrong keywords to find it... but never give up!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by: Foxx4Beaver on July 07, 2015, 12:39:52 PM: whatever anyone does...don't send them a needle for them to measure to use as a base point, so that they can more easily assist in helping you get the correct needle you need/want....like I suggested :roll:
