Title: fmf jetting chart???
Post by: reknelb on May 05, 2005, 12:53:12 AM
I was browsing the FMF site and I came across thier jetting chart. for my '90, they recommend 170 main, 62 pilot, middle clip stock needle. This is with 32:1, 50/50 mix of race/pump gas, at sea level. I thought that it was kinda rich for the pilot so, I checked the '04 jetting, they recommend 168-165 main, 52 pilot  :?  Turns out they recommend a bit different jetting for each yaer?? What gives, I thought the kx5 has been the same since 89? (at least when the engine/carb is concerned) Did they change port timing, or carb slides at some point??

Kawasaki recommend always to high jetting to stock bikes!(safe)

FMF`s chart is maybe with a FMF-pipe,but it seems okay with
standard pipe too at sealevel.  8)

FYI, I found the chart to be dead wrong and inacuret. Not even close to what should be run. It is about the richness of a stock KX. It is the same way on my KX250 and KX500. The jetting chart is good here. But, I am still down about 30 sizes on the pilot. :-)
