Title: Rear suspension travel. Planning on using a battery mounted under seat
Post by: dinkyguitar on April 28, 2015, 07:22:59 AM
Hi all,

I have an 87 KX 250, but normally how close does the top rear tire get to the bottom of the rear fender?

I'm planning on making a battery box and mounting it under the seat behind the air box.

I know I can put a battery inside the air box, but I don't want to cut it up.

I'm afraid the rear tire will bottom out on the box.

Not planning on going off 10ft high jump either....maybe 5 ft  :-D.

dinky,

Id find the smallest viable battery tbat u can use and securely mount it IN the airbox. If its to make it street legal then it seems like u could get away with one of those super-thin batteries if all u need it for is to pass inspection?
