Title: PSI PIPE NOS - Help with year it is for?

I have been informed the 86/87 KX500 pipes are different than 88-04.

Can anyone help identify as I lost the tag on it.

I am trying to sell it and want it to fit for whoever buys it.

I had it for a tecate 3 wheeler project but it wont fit well.

That pipe does not seem to be for an 86 so it would have to be a later model

This is also what the interested buyer said. He believed it was 88-04 pipe.

Anyone else?

Kx500. 87 pipe will fit 88- 04 and vice a versa.  Always ran a later pipe on my 87...   Difference is 2 mount tabs vs 3.   87 didn't have the lower one

Well I noticed some pictures of pipes for 88-04 had 3 mounting tabs but this only has 2. Shold it have 3?

Problem is there are so few of these pipes around so there are no pictures or info.

If it only has 2.  It's an 87 pipe.
