Title: FMF Gnarly pipe and jetting
Post by: 2002KX500 on April 22, 2005, 12:34:50 PM
Anyone,

What did you jet to when you added a gnarly?

My setup:
Engine is stock.
Moose spacer.
UNI filter.
Ran great as stock.  Good plug color.
Jets: M-168, P-58, Clip- middle(3rd)

I would think I would have to at least go up on the main (170/172) My setting already matched the FMF guidelines for the pipe.  Not sure if any work was done to the jetting prior to my ownership..

Just wondering if anyone did the same upgrade.
(I tried finding info in the jetting section, but no luck)
Thanks,

Kevin

The only difference from the settings you are at and FMF's is the pilot.  They suggest a 52.  Why would you want to go to the 170 main?  Unless you are running in a lot of sand, or your motor has other mods,  the FMF recommendations are pretty good.

Arigato,
I was figuring, since the plug is a nice color, and by adding the Gnarly, there will be more air flow, thus needing more fuel to not go lean.  But if just changes the torque from the stock pipe, I guess I could be ok.  I am the FMF guidelines, so I will give it a try and see how things look and run.
Thanks for your reply.

Just chech the plug after your first hard run and you should be good to go.
