Title: 1997 stator

hi, is there someone able to tell me if a 1999 kx 125 stator fit in a 1997 kx?
My 1997 kx, has the problem that the engine doesn't do all RPM, it seem it has a rev limiter and i think that is the pick-up.
So i'll think to find a used stator.
Eventually how can i see if the pick-up is damaged?

According to Kawasaki the one you need fits 99-00 KX125 - 21003-1339
