oh man...that's just love right there :x
-
The other case half get messed up too?
-
Yep, we are going to try to repair it but most likely he will need at least a left side.
So far he needs all new bearings, circlips, and a complete top end.
The clutch and trans are good.
-
That is AWSOME!!! :-o
-
We just fixed a case that was about that bad.
-
I know it can be fixed, I'm just not certain my seagull can handle it.
-
so were you able to determine what was used to patch it up...J.B. Weld or fiberglass resin or something else?
-
I believe it is JB Weld.
And it sorta worked :-)
-
cool...J.B. is decent stuff...it's gotten me out of a couple binds over the past 12ish years.
-
Dam, that's a LOT to ask of JB Weld !! LOL
-
I'll have to remember to post some pics of this engine.
We just about have all the new parts in.
Waiting on the cylinder (Should be here this week) and the head... The head may be a while :-o

Well that looks like the old adage holds true, " if you take care of your equipment it will take care of you " . when I got my 500 the right outer case/clutch cover was cracked and JB weld repaired internally.I started to notice oil seepage from the crack, removed the cover and all looked good, my thoughts were that JB dried porous, I added a thin layer of good 2 part epoxy (plastic type) and have had no problems no seepage and have even laid it down hard too. Point being the porosity of JB weld
