Wow, that is some pretty bad damage! Did it say what year and model the engine is?
-
it was listed in the '91 K5 section...but because it only has two power valve gears, and black cases, it's either an '86 or '87, or an '88 with painted cases...maybe one of the members that're more familiar with the old stuff can pin point the exact year.

That just makes me sad. Being that old and that messed up, it's probably the last time that motor will ever run. May we have a moment of silence for a fallen friend...
-
Donor cycle...
I'm sure there is some salvage in there....
I'd take it..
-
tranny and clutch pack should be good.
-
Cast piston strikes again
-
Ouch!
-
Don't matter what motor or make that s**t hurts :-o

ive had just as much problems with forged pistons as cast, gone back to oe genuine kawasaki this time after countless heat seize problems and skirt fractures on a 2 brands that i won't mention names of, one white box red label wis**, and other pro* yellow box blue label
as above though sad for the motor after all those years.

Wossner pistons are the way to go...there's several of us on here that'll stand by their quality, craftsmanship and light weight...
