Has anyone tried out these air filter cleaning kits? It looks like a bucket and you get some liquid with is and stuff.
I am sooo bored cleaning out all my filters (and the kitchen after all the mess).

Nope.Kerosine, then liquid laundry soap with hot water in the garage sink. You must not be married if you can get away with filters in the house!

Good question. I just cleaned two filters this week and god do I hate that. I used something called "Krud Kutter" which is a knock off of Simple Green. It took 3-4 washings and I still wasn't happy with the results.
Guess it's back to kerosene/diesel fuel.

I put some regular pump gas in a little bucket and clean the filter in it, then i let it dry and then use some foam filter oil. I heard using regular gas isnt good :?: but its always worked well for me :D

I use Twin-Air dirt remover, I know it is expensive, but I strain it back into the can with a funnel and paper towel! So it last a long time and I do all three machines at the same time! I also use skins and have multiple filters for all my toys! So its only once or twice a year I get out all my filters and skins and clean and recoat all of them!

About 6 months ago, I switched to NoToil. This system requires not gas or solvent to clean the filter, just a bucket of warm water and a little crystal cleaning solution. Since I have 4 filters for each bike (I, too, hate cleaning filters), I don't have to clean very often, but when I do, I don't have to put up with the odor that goes along with solvents. In fact, NoToil is so easy on the nose, I put all the filters on the dash for drying, and then slip them into individual freezer zip bags for storage.
