I picked up a nice used 94' KX250....that after I pulled the jug off found out that the powervalve was not working right. The teeth off of the left hand exhaust valve are messed up pretty bad. I've called my local Kawasaki dealer, and probably ten other parts houses....and nobody has, or can even get one. Apparently Kawasaki discontinued the part.
Even searching ebay hasn't found anything. Does anyone have , or know where I might be able to get a new or nice used left hand exhaust valve for a 93-94 kx250?
It's part# 12005-1182
Help!!

Thanks.....I saw those powervalve parts on ebay, I was just hoping to find something cheaper than $150. I guess if it comes down to it, I may just have to do it. I can't believe that out of all the shops I've called (probably over 30 around the country), not a single person has a LH exhaust valve in stock. I'm surprised an aftermarket supplier hasn't started making them.

there are some members on here that, some how seem to pull some discontinued PV's outa their hat frequently....hopefully they'll chime in with a "yes" or a "no" for ya.
I don't blame you on not wanting to spend $150 on old stuff...but look at it this way...you might need something else that's in that pile for a $150 that you're having a hard time finding.

don't expect a after market company to start making these things as it not profitable ,as the demand is low and the out lay is high , if you get really stuck have a one off made , but it will cost . I keep most off these sought of parts broken in a box ,thinking I might one day get them reproduced , but I am not very wealthy so I think they be in the box forever ,sorry.

I wouldn't let the cost of those stand in the way. You may not see another set of valves again for months if not years. Going through the same thing with my KX125.
Make sure you scrub & clean and properly lube your powervalves when you reassemble.
One day someone will make a profitable business from reproducing power valves for old two strokes.

Hi there...........I had the same problem for my 99,absolute fortune to get the parts made, just for the governor rod to be made was going to cost between £500-£700.I ended buying the whole kit from ebay for £70.
There is a place in England that will be able to help you, its called Cornwall Kawasaki Centre, its a great site very user friendly, just find your year of bike and away you go.
It looks like the part you need is 120051182 VALVE-EXHAUST,LH and the price is £35.
Check out there site its very good and seems one of the very few people that still have these parts.
Hope this helps

Don't trust the online listings. Many if not most parts lookup sites will show that your powervalve is available, but they use "old information" and you'll find you just tied up $100 for a week or more waiting for the refund after they tell you NLA.
Call whoever it is you will be buying from and ask them to put their hands on the part, or to verify in their internal lookup tool.
Sucks hearing the 99 power valves are NLA. wow. Only one generation of KX left after that.

Yeah, that's the ploblem I keep runnin into.....the websites all show that they can still get them, but its old outdated info. When I place an order for one, I will get an email a few days later saying "that part has been discontinued". I think my only real option now is to just bite the bullet and buy something used off of ebay and pay way too much for it.
Does anyone know what the dimensions are on the gears kawasaki has on the exhaust valves? If I could find a steel or brass spur gear with the same teeth and other dimensions, I could probably have a machine shop just turn off the aluminum gear teeth and then install a new steel or brass spur gear. As long as you get the gear in the right spot, you can just lock it down with a set screw and call it good.
