Hi i'm going to change the oil for my motor, idon't have the book so how much i need?
thanks

Should be about a quart. I'm not perfectly sure because I buy oil in the gallon jug and just fill it until it comes to the top of the window on the side of the case.

My manual says 28 oz. Just shy of a quart. I use a funnel that has a measuring lines on the sides. After you fill it to your desired amount just open the check valve and fill. Pick this thing up at Wal-Mart. I use 80w Bel-Ray trans. oil.

First of all I'm presuming that the oil change is for a KX500 (year?), secondly you're not actually changing the engine oil (again presuming your bike's a KX500) you are changing the transmission oil (engine oil is the oil you mix in with your gas), thirdly again assuming you have a KX500 (year?) the capacity should be 800ml (0.8L) and the recommended weight oil would be any 10W30, 10W40, 75W or 80W oil.

Sand Toyz post was listed under the Maintenance & Technical kx500. So let's hope it was a 500.

Yes it is Kx500 2004

after every day of race or practice I change my oil....10 w 40 is what I use......I like the 10W40 cause 70 percent of my upshifting is under full throttle or dam close to it also I never use a clutch... I find i miss shift more when using heavier oil as well the clutch seems more grabby
