I don't know what it is....but I can not seem to get a good replacement throttle cable for my kx.....most are too long, as I can screw the throttle, carb and cable adjusters all the way out and still have free play.......and even as bad as som cables won't throttle to wide open......anyone have this problem and a potential solution?

what kind are you using?
when it comes to throttle and clutch cables, OEM are the way to go.

I didn't have good luck with MP....I got a brand new MP throttle cable for one of my 250's once...it was the correct cable for that bike, but the nipple on the end of the carb side, that goes into the slide, would never stay in place. The nipple was just a touch bigger than the OEM.
About 2 years ago I got a clutch cable for my 500....again, it was the right cable going by part#'s...but it didn't matter how much I cleaned and lubed it, it never had a smooth easy pull...and that was brand new!. A couple days later, I threw on a brand new OEM, and it's been great since, still on my bike now.
Motion Pro is by no means a bad name/company...they make some really good stuff, but I won't use their cables again.
