Title: aftermarket ignitions

i have a friend that has an aftermarket igniton on one of hit kx250's. it is an 85 model. anyone ever heard of any aftermarket ignition systems?

I just installed a PVL (Penton) digital ignition into another bike...a vintage  YZ125. The ignition is lightning in a bottle!!! Seriously, it feels like it revs 30% faster and %20 higher than the stocker did. The bike would not idle before, and without jetting or mixture changes, it idles fine now. The only hitch is that it isn't cheap at $475. But that includes everything you will need except a good spark plug boot. It comes with one of those little ones that look more at home on my weed-eater. Hope this helps.
