ok so i have a 2003 kx65, just put a fresh top end on it, i mean i havent even done the break in yet, but theres my problem, i put it through one heat cycle just fine, let it cool down went back out and tarted up firt kick perfectly, but this time it idled for about 2 minutes then it back fired and shut off, wouldnt crank again so i took the park plug out to check for spark and i have none, i ruled it down to a bad stator but i started looking up 2003 kx65 stators and i think i might off a wrong one on or somethin cuz next i looked at the cdi's and new cdi's look completely different compared to what i have, ill posst pics right after this, so can some one help i mean it started up with it but would it matter? would this cdi or stator cause it to lose spark?

If you are in the USA, look at your VIN.
Count 10 digits reading left to right and tell us what the 10th digit is.
-
did you try a new plug first? might have fouled, silly question, trying to paint a picture
-
bought a brand new plug just for the rebuild, and the 10th digits a 3, looked up the cdi and it belongs to a kx60, does that make a difference
