I'm not his biggest fan by any means...but I hope the AMA lets him continue with the outdoor series...he does make it interesting to watch...and there's already a ton of top riders out this year.

The article said it was "adverse analytical finding of amphetamine"

Another blurb:

"Mr Stewart has the right to request and attend the analysis of his B sample.

A Provisional Suspension imposed by the FIM does not in any way prejudge the question as to whether an anti-doping rule violation under Article 2 of the FIM Anti-Doping Code has actually been committed.

This question will be addressed by the FIM International Disciplinary Court (CDI) when it adjudicates on the merits of the case. Mr James Stewart is provisionally suspended with effect from 20 June until further notice.

Under the World Anti-Doping Code and the FIM Anti-Doping Code, the FIM is unable to provide any additional information at this time."

And, why take amphetamines?  To improve performance in endurance.

Amphetamines current medical use is limited, with only Dexedrine (dexamphetamine sulphate) currently available for use in the treatment of narcolepsy - where the patient cannot help suddenly falling asleep.

So. it is possible that Mr. Stewart has a legitimate prescription.
We will just have to wait and see... :-o

Too bad! I always enjoyed watching the "Fastest man on the planet!" wad up! Maybe he can go back to pretending to be a cop and pulling people over on the road down in Florida again? Not a Stewart fan no matter how fast he thinks he is!

I'm not his fan either, but...
I enjoy seeing him in the mix too, as he's been known to keep me on the edge of my seat waiting to see him crash in spectacular style. :-o

That's funny, I wasn't looking at it that way.
I meant everything in a general sense.
Some people love him and others not much...
I sure like it when he races as he usually makes things exciting...

Love him...or hate him, I have never seen ANYONE that has the raw talent & balls that this guy has, and that goes back to Decoster & Hannah days. If anyone saw him at Budds Creek go down in the first turn on is 125 & get up dead last by a good margin & had that bike pegged the entire track to decimate the entire field that was riding 250f's, you know how much talent he has. The scrub was utilized on Henry Hill, and his bars/foot pegs barely cleared the lip, over & over again, I have the photo from Fox Poster framed & to this day is still my all time favorite.

I just wished used his head a little more than he did.

The races aren't sitting on the edge of your seat type without him, either gunna crash or rip it!!!! Hopefully he will be the same old James when we get to see him in action in October

The races aren't sitting on the edge of your seat type without him.

that's exactly how I've always felt too....I'm not a huge fan, but he makes it exciting to watch....he's usually the one to try the biggest leaps 1st, whether in practice, heats, or the main events...and 9 times outa ten, will pull it off.

"Fastest man on the planet" except for the Goat who beat him heads up how many times? Stewart wasted his talent. That's all right though....it was his choice. d**n good rider but not consistent for many different reasons.

You can not say he wasted his talent when he is the one that is pro and has how many race wins under his belt? Some people are consistent and some people are reckless, it's all about how they ride. If he would have rode like Dungey he may never have made it to being a pro, or the other way around he could have been consistent and been twice as fast. But we do not know which one it could have been so we can not talk about how he "wasted his talent"...  Some people just can't ride fast without being a little wild, and some can..

When you read the decision the "attitude of Mr James Stewart, Jr. towards the FIM Anti-doping Code (CAD) as being “one of reckless disregard" is probably why he got hit so hard. Same thing at any big business. You disrespect them and that becomes the issue more than the infraction itself. He probably came across as considering them a 'joke' and that did him in.

unfortunately the majority of American dirt bikers feel exactly the same way towards the FIM...and not just because of Stewart...people have dis-liked the FIM for years, and believe they should have nothing to do with AMA...even the AMA!. They're like the "government" of our sport, that no one wants...but are forced to live and deal with. :x
