Hello guys, I have KX 250 ī99 and I have problem with rubber connection on joint exhaust and silencer. This rubber is few days old, it is new from OEM parts. Problem is leaking oil from it. I donīt know what is right position to install. When I give rubber more forward on exhaust pipe where is caliber larger, then influence by warm is rubber going back to silencer pipe. Second thing is, that on this scheme http://www.cmsnl.com/kawasaki-1999-l1-kx250_model11960/partslist/E1140.html#results isnīt any tapes to pull and fix position rubber on joint. I was try install tapes, but result was same. Inside rubber is different caliber - tighter and looser. I am hobby rider and I use oil mix ratio 1:32 Repsol Offroad 2T Full Synthetic. How is right position to install and way to fix the rubber. Some photos will be good. Please help me what I should do.

these are of my 2000 250...not the best pics, but I will post some better ones tomorrow when I have it outside in the day light, unless someone else can post some better ones before then....take note of the tab on the silencer, it prevents it from sliding back...this is a full Pro-Circuit system, I'm not sure what exhaust is on yours...so there could be some slight subtle differences in "where" it sits best, but it's all generally the same...

It sounds as though your jetting is way rich, or your top-end could be weak....it shouldn't be leaking oil/black spooge from there with clean jetting...but since you said you are a "hobby rider", I don't advise you playing with the jetting unless you know what you're doing....plenty of guys on here that can help.

let me know if you need to see more pics...it's pretty cut-n-dry simple.
you should have an even amount of the rubber seal overlapping the pipe side and silencer side.
the zip-ties hold it in place nicely...and helps keep a tight seal.

the tighter(smaller diameter) side wants to be on the silencer....so that when you take your exhaust off to do some maintenance, the rubber seal STAYS ON the silencer.

Problem is finally resolved! I simply use thicker and bigger tapes and there is ANY leaking oil, all is clean and dry. Rubber is still on right position. Now I havenīt doubts about mix ratio 1:32 :-)

jetting jetting jetting, the oil/spooge can be fixed by jetting, usually in the needle height
