Can anyone confirm if the rear shock off a KX 80 is the same as a KX 85

The KX80 shock does come with a KX85 linkage ????

The short answer is maybe, you will have to compare them dimensionally to see, many times they change something small and change the part number or maybe the shaft size. There would be minimal doubt that the bearings are different, what I would look for is the length, the length of the exposed shaft and make sure you have clearance on the frame if the body is different. I've used different shocks on different bikes alot, in many cases my valving was off but yours should be close.
