Title: 1st Ride- 250f/K5
Post by: cmotodad on March 09, 2014, 01:17:20 PM
Well, we rode the 05 KX250f/K5 for the 1st time today. WOW, what a fun day. We had our CR250's with us and rode all 3. This is the 1st time for me with a K5 on a race track. I have built some CR500AF's but not with the  K5 motor. The motor is sooo good. Nice smooth power with a good amount of overrev when needed. The bars we had were a tad high, so the front felt a little strange. The chassis has a great feel, turns well yet is plenty stable. We just recently sold a KX450 and the K5 was quite similar compared to the 450. Coming out of turns with a jump ahead was really easy with the extra pull over the 250's. Jetting was a little rich but should not be too difficult to get right. Next ride will have jetting changes, low bars and a few changes in the A kit suspension. Hopefully we can supply a video on the next one. Thanks for all the help with this build from this great site. Looks like the CR500AF may be in the for sale column soon.

really nice to hear, how much better the kx500 engine against the cr500 engine feels for you...  :-D..  and i will not say that the cr500 is a bad bike. there are some green japanese bikes, that are better...
