Title: 89 power valve
Post by: Maicoman on February 22, 2014, 07:39:07 AM
Was wondering if there is a center valve pin to drum valve channel clearance spec for 89 kx's 250 and 500.

Have searched the site but unable to find a number.

On the 250 I brazed the center valve pin round. It had a flat where it sat in  the drum channel. A friend welded a low spot in the channel .

The bike runs well, but as I'm doing the 500 I wanted to get it right. New valves are unavailable, as far I know.

Maico,

The center valve pins can be replaced with some effort, you will need 2 of the Kawasaki Part # 92043-1373, this will fix the center valve, but the major wear happens in the side/barrel valves channel.

Hope this is what you where asking...

I was looking for how much space there should be between the center valve pin as it moves in the drum channel.

Thanks
