I have the opportunity to pick up a clean, low hour 2009 KX 450. Is there any problems with these bikes? What improvements have they made to the 450 from 09-14? Is there a map switch available for the 09 model?

that's the same year 450 I had and rode with you I had no complaints about it just heavy feeling.

I thought so but it does have a ton of point and shoot power between the 450 and the 500 I find the 500 much easier to ride.

Well what's the worst that could happen? I blow it up and put a k5 in there? Lol... I rode it the other day and man oh man that fuel injection is F-ing nice!

If you remember I tried to get you to throw a leg over the 450 out at balinger and you was to scarded lol :evil: the 09 had very few problems other than it was hard to turn half way through a corner but I liked it and the only reason I sold it was cause a friend of mine was selling a K5 I just had to have.

Well I'm going to go pick it up tomorrow. The bike has got 7 hours on it and I'm getting it for 3500.... Seems a little steep but it's got brand new knobbies, ims tank, skid plate and radiator braces.... I'm stoked to ride a fuel injected bike....

Just got my first fuel injected bike and really like it. Not magic though. Found out when you are making a U turn on a steep hill in downtown Seattle with traffic coming it will stall if you lug it enough. :-o

If the hours are true that isn't a bad buy and with all the add on's id say good deal you may need a revalve but ride it first the kx has good suspension I think you will like it....I had a lot of hours and one valve adj on mine and still sold it for 2500.

Wish it wasn't a pain in the ass to post pics.. But I got it today... Checked the valves and there good, didn't have to shim them yet... Changed the oil and filter. Bike runs really good. Can't wait to ride it!
