Somehow I managed to shear the gear spline for the waterpump on the crankshaft. By any chance does anyone have a pick of what a good one looks like? The gear just spins freely in the crankshaft right now. Also how would I go about getting a broke off piece outof the crankshaft without taking the whole lower-end apart?
Thanks,
Chris

I had to replace the water pump gear on the end of the crankshaft recently. It's a press fit into the crankshaft. No way to pull it out if it's in there tight. I had to break the gear off, drill out the center of the shaft (it's soft enough to drill) then take a dremel with a carbide cutter bit and work sideways thru the case hardened surface of the shaft and break the pieces out.

Thanks dude, your a life saver. I figured it was something like that. I couldn't figure it out and I almost just put it all back together. I've asked about 4 mechanics and none of them could tell me the answer to that question. You rock. I need to buy you a cold one.
Thanks,
Chris
