Does anybody have a good pictures of their intake boot trimed and installed on the engine with the carb :?: Left and right side pictures. I am making my own reed block spacer this week and just would like to see what the trimed intake boot will look like and how the carb throat fits into it. Thanks

Just copy the gasket inside diameter to make a spacer,no need to trim the boot. You can even leave a lot of overhang on the out side if you feel lazy. The boot needs to be cut on the inside to run a V-fource,is that what you were thinking of maybe?

I guess there is enough movement in the air box boot to allow the carb to move back 10mm (spacer thicknest)

Yes,just makes it that much tighter fit though!

Wow!! I just finally got to ride my 500 this afternoon for about three hours with the reed spacer I made. What a differance in low/mid power. This thing as better throttle responce through out the gear range. Seems like I have alittle more over rev. with out the engine breaking up. May jetting was o.k but now it seems to be right on the money. I was just alittle rich at idle to 1/4 throttle. Now it is spot on with the spacer. But may idle speed has increased just alittle with the spacer is this normal :?:
