Title: Need help with trans install
Post by: Stick_man on October 25, 2013, 04:44:36 AM
The bike is an 01 kx250.
I'm trying to get my motor back together but can't seem to get the trans in correctly.
I have both gear sets and shift drum in the case but they don't work right.
It spins about half a revolution then binds somewhere.
Is there a specific way the drum has to  go in? To me it doesn't look like you could put it in wrong but something isn't right.

you could look here.  the parts are pictured like they go in the bike. maybe it helps you...  another good trick is to lay the parts on a clean towel, like they came out by disassembling the engine...

I'll compare what I have to the schematics after work.
I would've just pulled it out and kept it together but I had to take it apart to do the 1st gear swap.
Thanks
