Title: 99-02 KX 125 Seats
Post by: MXonaKawi on October 03, 2013, 06:18:26 AM
Hello guys!

I am going to be purchasing a new replacement seat for my 2000 KX 125. I am going to go with an SDG aftermarket replacement.

I've noticed that the 4 years have different seat item numbers on the OEM sites and different prices as well.
What's the difference between the seats? They changed them from year to year correct? Which one is best? Give me the lowdown. I can put a 99' 01' or 02' on my bike right?

I noticed the 99' seat appears more flat than the 00' seat that came on my bike which had more of an inward curve to it and less seat foam.

I just realized that I bought an 02' gas tank. It seems to fit perfectly so far. Since it is flatter (apparently in 02' they made it flatter than the previous years as noted in the 2nd link here) than the 99'-01' tanks, I hope an 00' seat fits.

I just found this thread that states that an 02' seat is 1/4" longer and has a different bottom and bolts up differently as do the sideplates.
