Title: New guy here
Post by: Kchad917 on September 17, 2013, 11:40:24 AM
Picked up a 96 full PC bike from my uncle for 800 bucks and plan on restoring it. I hVe a couple question about the plastics, I wanna swap the front and shrouds to an 07 and have the parts laying around, my only thing is has anyone ever done the rear end? I have done a lot of searching and came up with nothing. Also I had my airfield screw turned out 2 turns and the bike wouldn't idle so I came in to 1.5 and now I'm getting spooge and fouled my first plug all season could that be the issue?

Hey Kchad917..
Welcome to the site.
Something as simple as a dirty air filter can cause spooge so it's hard to say.
What elevation do you ride at?
What oil and mix ratio do you use?
Do you know what your jetting is?
When's the last time you put a new top end in it?
Pro Circuit recommends the following jetting.
Main 158
Pilot 45
Needle NOZG
Clip position 2nd
Air screw 1.5 turns

Pro Circuit

Clip position 2nd

The air filter is cleaned every 2 rides, the top end has about 19 hours on it.
If your look at the picture there is no spooge around the end pipe cap, after goin from 2 turns to 1.5 I started getting it.
I'm mixing 50:1 and don't no the jetting the bike was set up by pro circuit when the suspension and head were done, I don't know the elevation but I ride in south jersey

I would replace the plug and ride it a bit.
If you are still spooging I would pull the jets, verify what they are, clean them, and set your float bowl level.
If your pilot jet is richer then PC recommends, I would get the correct one but if it is idling smooth at 1.5 turns then it is probably good..
