So, after buying my basket base of a 2004 kx250. The bike has the wrong forks and I THINK the wrong swingarm. I have already solved the issue with the forks. But the bike sits really low in the rear. I matched my shock length with another 04 kx250 shock and they are the same.
So, that being said, I believe I have the wrong swingarm and/or linkage.
I have checked part numbers and ONLY the 2004 swingarm shows, no other years will interchange, this is why im led to believe someone just threw one on there.
Can someone with an 04 kx250 post some detailed pictures/measurements of their swingarms and linkage arms? I would hate to order this expensive stuff without knowing first.
thanks!

here are some pictures of the bike. One picture shows how low the bike sits. and other show how the swingarm just seems long for the bike.

have you checked the pre-load on the rear spring/shock...it's easy and doesn't cost anything...that's where I'd start.....looking at the pics, everything "appears" to be correct otherwise....but really can't say without being there.
you could possibly have some bearings binding up too in the swingarm/linkage preventing it from moving through it's full stroke freely.

I've adjusted that every which way. The bike sits super low and I'm dumbfounded on what is going on..

when the bike is off the stand, can you grab the back of the bike and manually lift it to fully extended?

Yes, but not enough to bring the bike up to normal height

the bike/suspension wasn't lowered for a short rider, or for a rider that just wanted a lowered bike by any chance was it?...by using different links or by using a different spring?
any chance you could find out from the previous owner?

The previous owner is of no help at all. The shock on the bike is the same length as a stock length shock. Also, the linkage arm appears to be stock. Its not a billet aftetmarket one. Frame stamp states its a 2004. I'm really confused
