I joined this site to find out specific info on pipes and power valves on the 98-99 models. I realize the 98-99 jugs have the same last 4 digits 1851.
Question is about the power valves. From what ive read, it appears people have used the 98 or 99 valves in the jug 1851. Seems people have eluded to the fact that you have to use all the power valve parts from either or, not interchange.
So can anyone here confirm that "yes" the 98 and 99 power valves will fit in the jug numbered 1851?
And, do you know if you can interchange pieces of either year to work together in the jug 1851.
From what we can tell they both work and interchange, but figured there might be some journeymen kx riders that know for sure. There isnt a dealer in my area that has a clue

Hello.
Yes, they will interchange as the cylinders are identical however.... You will want the complete system not just the center, left, or right valves.
Center:
FITS 98 KX250 - 49116-1159
FITS 99 KX250 - 49116-1173
EXHAUST VALVE LEFT
FITS 98 KX250 - 12005-1252
FITS 99-04 KX250 - 12005-1284
EXHAUST VALVE RIGHT
FITS 98 KX250 - 12005-1253
FITS 99-04 KX250 - 12005-1285
I'm not saying you can't mix or match, but to the best of my knowledge they are made to work as a system.
