Can anyone tell me the weight in lbs. and ounces of a stock 1999-2001 KX 125/250
-Top Triple Clamp
-Bottom Triple Clamp without the stem.
I found some aluminum aftermarket ones that I am considering replacing the stockers with. They look nicer and if they are lighter, I think I will go with them.
They are Vortex btw. Input welcome...
The Top is 1.65 lbs.
The Bottom is 2.6 lbs.

99 KX125 triple clamp weight...
Top with bolts: 1.85 lb
Bottom with bolts: 2.70 lb
Total weight with bolts and nuts, no bearings: 4.55 lb
Total weight with bolts and nuts, with bearings: 5.10 lb
Not much of a weight savings...

Hmmmm interesting. Not much savings at all if any. The weight I provided was without bolts and bearings. I guess I'll go with the stockers.

Yeah but the after market ones look so cool 8-)

Ugh. I know hard decision.
But I'll be getting the stockers powder coated if I go that route.
I'm not sure if I'd go with white, black or chrome yet though. Thoughts?
My goal is for the bike to aesthetically be the perfect combination of show bike, works bike and original KX goodness.
I don't want to go too crazy with the white and make the bike look to plastic-ish. Too much white has a tendency to make parts look plastic and the bike starts to look like a toy bike.

you can't go wrong with black... would look sweet on that white frame, may be hard to get the color to blend without being a block of white if you do white. take a picture with them on the bike and photoshop them (paint if need be) to see how it will look before hand.
