Hi guys, I am new to this site and just wanted to share with you my recent project. I spent a little over a year restoring this KX 125 back to showroom condition. I used all OEM or NOS parts that I tirelessly searched for all over the world. I hope you like it. :-)

Very nice!....I think Jeff Ward would be proud.
-
Wow! It's 1987 all over again. Very clean. Like you said, it's showroom new.
-
Wow!
Nice job.
Do you have any pics of what you started with?
-
I started with this frame and a whole lot of boxes. After getting all the parts to build a new bike I boxed them up and labeled them by step so my wife could help with the assembly process. It was fun for both of us. :-D

Here are some shots of the assembly process. :-)

very nice,
is the fuel tank NOS? or is it restored?
-
The fuel tank was restored the best I could. I think it came out very close to new.

Thanks for the extra pics.
No expense spared and no detail overlooked...
Excellent.
So what are you going to do with it now that you have it done?

ha...I'd believe you if it wasn't for the fact Bridgestone didn't have the M204-M404 out yet in 87 ...it's one of the two that he's got strapped on the rear.

+1....I'd love to have that thing sitting in my living room next to the 250 and 500.
-
... :-D ... at least your livingroom looks like mitch paytons showroom with the jeff ward bikes... :-D
-
That thing is beautiful! My first " new off the showroom " motorcycle was a 1987 kx 125. I loved it. Here it is back in probably '88 or '89.

Thanks for all the responses guys! Yes you got me these photos are from June 1987, I was a factory rider in 1987 and had the new Bridgestone tire combo...hehe I am in this bike around $5500 plus a year out of my life...lol I did add the following non-OEM parts because I "was" going to ride it:
1. Bridgestone tires mostly because the OEM ones are gone forever
2. Optional heavy springs front and rear, although NOS they did not come stock
3. Boyseen reeds because they are better than stock
4. Scott half waffle grips because they are softer than stock
5. PSI pipe with answer silencer because this was rare even in 1987! I found it new and could not pass up.
6. Rk chain and aluminum sprockets for light weight and durability
I do have all the OEM stuff listed above except the tires in boxes ready to put on if the need arises.
-
ha....you've got a smart-ass sense of humor....you'll fit right in here
