Hi, Luckily I stumbled onto this site by accident. I thought I was the only guy left who yerned for big bore 2-stroke power nowadays, Havent seen one around here in a decade or so. After a long (12 years) absence from my favorite thing in the motorcycle world, I'm back on a KX 500. I bought a new one in '88 and '91, raced moto-x until '93, hurt my knee and got out of it and have missed it since. I made the mistake of stopping by the local K-shop recently and saw a new one on the floor! I thought those things were long gone by now. Well that was the begining of something that I could not control!!!!! I suddenly found myself thinking about those 3rd gear motocross starts that, if I did my part right, no one could even think about beating me to the first turn. The any gear, roll on wheelie's.
The complaints from all of the 125-250 riders about the "wall of earth" coming at them when I was in front of them. Needless to say I had it bad, I found a '00 model in primo condition with pro curcit exhaust and bought it. I forgot what PURE BRUTE HORSEPOWER felt like. Anyway, I'll quit slobbering for now, glad to see that there are other big bore freaks out there ripp'in it up. See ya, Randy.

Welcome home, yep there are power freaks still hitting the gas and popping the clutch, its always good to hear about some one mounting up on the" MIGHTY KX", Have some fun and post some pics when you can.

But for me I don?t like Kx500 it?s only a habit,got 3 of them and 1 tripple(mach 3)! :x

Welcome, I know how it is with injuries family pressure etc! I have quit and started a number of times my self, but I just keep coming back to the big bore 2 strokes! I have owned or ridden almost all the big bore 2 strokes from 501 Maico to my 01 KX500, but then I am kind of an old fart. There isn't any thing to compare it with and now that they have gone extinct. The only thing left is the ATK
500 620 or 700 and only by special order. I guess we can keep these KX5's running for another 15 years or so, which is probably longer than I will be able to ride!

There a bunch of really knowledgeable guys on this site that can answer any questions you may have!

Thanks guys. I live about 2 hours from Little Sahara state park here in Oklahoma so I am in process of trying to get a spare rear wheel and a paddle tire set-up for the mighty KX. Anybody got one for sale, or know where one might be?Thanx,
