I bought a mint condition '03 last August. It's well set up for desert riding. Normally starts up easily but once took maybe 50 kicks. Sunday took 200. I was ready to set it on fire. I checked out all the cold start threads here and got some good techniques to try. I'm too old to kick that monster that much. Killer power, nice, stiff suspension (I'm 200 lbs.) Fast as all get out, as long as I can start it more easily....

Welcome to the forum.
If the bike sat for a while between starting, try leaning it over till fuel piddles out the over flow.
Then give it a try.
Post some pics of your bike as we would love to see it.

sounds like you are the right man for an compression release modification...it makes starting easier..
but i also think, you have to take a look at the jetting...

Rock it.
Put it in second and give it a rock back and forth. Nuetral -> kick and enjoy.
