Hey guys, Jake here! My Dad has a 1991 KX 250. I've noticed that the older bikes of that year have a weird set bend. Is it possible for me to get or make a custom sub-frame to make the seat flat like more modern dirt bikes? Thanks guys!

I think it has more to do with the fuel tank and seat pan than the sub frame. I bet if we all put our heads together we could come up with a way to do it on he 91 though.

Do to my ignorance, I don't know what a seat pan is, I'm assuming it's how the seat fits on. If I could fix that stupid curve then I could make the bike so much more comfortable and easier to ride. It kinda stinks, its either (if you a guy) you get pinched or maybe that's just my poor riding, or when you lean back or jump your always against the seat :x But it's something I'm seriously considering doing, then I wouldn't be in such a rush to get rid of my thumper (KLX 140L) an go to a 2-smoke.

why is it that you want the seat to be flat with the tank?
Regardless you could take the seat to a upholster shop and have them build it up with foam?

buddy of mines banshee he used to race in best of the desert and whiplash series but the seat was built up to match the desert tank and for better ride.

I find it much more comfortable and easier to move around on. When I sit on it I feel like i'm in a dip (best way I an describe it. If I move back on the seat, it makes me want to go forward. It always feels like I'm being forced back into this dip in the seat. Plus I won't pinch the boys as much lol. It's one of those comfort things. There's nothing necessarily wrong with the seat, just to me its very uncomfortable. I would think If I added more foam I'd sit a bit higher but I guess not that much huh. I'll talk to my Dad and maybe I'll try.
