Title: 08 KXF 250 with a 04 250 motor!
Post by: FASTTED on March 31, 2013, 03:04:48 AM
I found this site by searchin for 250af conversions! Im gonna do a kx250af! Always wanted one and just got a 08 250f roller last week. Im waiting for my die sets to come in for my bender 1" 6.5" radius so I can make the bottom rails. Heres a cpl pix of my kx and the roller. Will be posting in a few weeks when I get started should be a fast and easy build!

I did one with an 03 250 motor. One thing to take your time on is the air boot conversion. I used an 01 cr250 boot on mine and for radiators I modified some 03 kx 250 radiators which was much easier than using the 250f radiators. Heres my thread:

It is a pretty easy build, I used a JD squared bender with the square dies and used 1" radiused tubing, it looks factory. The pipe fits perfectly with no mods required other than I think I had to weld a mount for the pipe support, The silencer has to have the mounts added to the subframe to fit. I used the 99-02 air boot and radiators. I think that you will find the frame rails the biggest hurdle, you could do it in one bend, but I did mine in a couple so it followed the contour of the motor.
