I currently own a KX 500, and I love it. But the other day, I saw a guy out riding an AF conversion, and I want one.
I am asking what do I need to start building one? Is there a preferred rolling chassis I need to find? Can I buy a used KX450 F and go from there?
Just looking into this as a project for next winter.
Thanks!!!

If I was going to do another I would use the 450F chassis, the newer the better.
I used a 250F chassis on mine and things get a bit tight :-)
Then again if I found a street legal KLX chassis I would be tempted to go that way..

x2 on the 450 chassis. I'm just finishing my conversion with a 250 chassis and it does make for extra work and a few problem areas. Sometimes I think I'd have just been as happy with a mint, standard 500. If I come across one, that's what I'll be be buying next. At the rate people are sacrifcing them for AF's, there won't be many left out there.
