Post by: climber05 on March 02, 2013, 10:20:28 AM
hi everyone, i just bought a kx500 and plan on rebuilding the engine. ive done 250's and 125's before many times and have always used a weisco or hot rods crank but i cant seem to find an aftermarket crank of any king for the 500! what am i missing here? or do they just not make them?

I realize you might be on a certain budget....but this is one of those areas where OEM is the only way to go,and you'll be glad you did...I paid $525 for my new complete OEM crank with my discount...if you shop around, you might find one close to that.

I have seen WAY too much bad from the Hotrods / wiseco cranks.

For the K5.  the rods are like playing Russian roulette with a fully loaded gun

If your crank halves are good I would have these guys rebuild it.
