Title: KX5 MOTOR IN RMZ250F
Post by: bilger69 on February 18, 2013, 09:56:39 AM
Hi All, me and a buddy got an idea to stuff my kx500 motor into a 2004 SUZUKI RMZ250F. Just not sure if it will work to well or not. The reason for choosin an RMZ is because he has a buddy with one he'll sell me cheap with a tired motor. ( I dont need the suzuki motor). Any input will be greatly appreciated. I also figure the 04 KX250F plastics will be pretty interchangeable so i can have the beautiful lime green lol. Thanks for reading

I did this in an RM250 and it was pretty easy. I think with the RMZ you will have more room above the jug, than I did. Also more tank clearance. The big problem I see is the "Y" in the frame that comes down from the neck to the engine cradle area will be too low. You will have to cut this off and move the two tube up higher so the head pipe can come out between them. Other than that the hardest problem is lining up the sprockets.

good luck
