Post by: bjohn07 on January 28, 2013, 09:50:20 AM
so my head bearings have play. figured id freshen up the forks while im at it.  manual recommends kayaba 01 never heard of it.  or se sae 5w20.  :-o  prob because this manual if from 92.  anyway  whats a good weight for this bike.  im not gonna race it.  mainly trail riding, take it to a local track probably twice a year just to mess around.  im 180 pounds.      i was thinking a 10wt?   and how much is a good level to start with.  book is saying 506-516ml?

5 wt is what I use, I'm 200 PLUS LBS, if stock springs you could mix 10 and 5 together. 10 on its own will be much harsher through the stroke.

Mobile 1 full synthetic ATF

Works out to be 7.5W
