so like any one, I'm looking for more power. what is the best i can do? anyone porting these things? stroker crank? I want to keep the oem cylinder. I've never seen a gain with big bores and have seen more problems then solutions. Unless there is a proven one for my bike (95 kx250)
flywheel weight??
I saw the stator plate is slotted for adjustability, if I advance the timing a few degrees will I see a difference? or is it already pretty set in the way it is?
I see the power valves are extremely adjustable, is there power to be made there?
I'm gonna be in the sand 99% of the time and that is just a horsepower killer, So i'm going to run paddles, how many are you sand guys normally running? I would think 10 or 12 on a 250 should be plenty .
Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this info. Like I said I never had a kx let alone any kawasaki before so I'm going off the one brand that I know the most about.

8 paddle is pretty standard. Hard to find 10's and 12 is a special made tire. You can get one but I feel that you won't need more then a 8 paddle for a 250.
-
your right about the 12. i saw 6 8 10 in dennis kirk. the 6 slipped my mind and thought 12. will my bike struggle with a 10 paddle?
-
Anything more on a 250 then a 8 paddle is just not necessary.
Believe me, you will hook up just fine with a 8 paddle.

Same on the 500's. My bike is faster with a kings turbo.8 cup Than my 10 or 12 cups

Hmmmmm.
On my 500 my 8 paddle hooks up better off the line then my 10 but I get about 3 mph better top speed out of the 10.
My 8 is a Kings, my last 10 was a Skat Trak Hooker.
I can't remember the name of my current 10 :-(

Alright 8 it is. Now how about any other power adders?
-
Bump
Anyone have anything??
I'm waiting on the piston to send out the cylinder. So before I send it out is there any porting that I can get done?
How about a different dome design?
Is there any recommended bottom end procedures I can/ should do?
Like true and weld crank? Water pump check? Any trans mods I can do?
I just want to do everything in one shot and put it all back together and hopefully be done with it

Power is just a question of money.
Big bore kits, Pistons, Porting, head mods, reeds, pipes, balancing, and a host of other goodies are available.
A good place to start would be these guys:

I would also do a search on this site as there is a lot of info already recorded.
