I've watched this kid ride since he started when he was 4 1/2yo.I raced with/against his father,Carl,in the NESC since I was on minis, and we always had alot of fun on the track and in the pits.
He was picked up by Factory Connection/Geico Honda in 2011 as a fill in,and did quite well in the outdoors. He snapped both ankles 2 weeks before the start of the 2012 Supercross series out in Cali...so his ride at FC is still in question.JoJo Keller has worked with him on and off over the last 12 years. He's all healed up and is hungry to get on with 2013.
Here's a couple short vids of him at MX207 in Lyman,ME.

The kid is fast ! Reminds me of when I used to watch Tony Larusso at 14 y/o smoking 80 ft double jumps on an 80cc back years ago....
-
Back in 04,he was only 4'8",12 years old,and on a YZ85 with double stacked footpegs...and airing out the Intimidator at Jolly Rogers!!
I got a look at MX101 on YouTube too Polar....that place looks FAST.I definitely want to check that place out this Spring!!

I have not been to MX101 since they increased the size of the track, it was kinda small as I remember, but i've heard it's way better now, so yea me too looking forward to squidding out some laps ! LOL
lets meet up at a NESC 'wick event this year just to watch, and talk old skool NESC trash !
-
Absolutely....here's the 2013 NESC schedule....Southwick or Crow Hill sounds good.

Good to see my friends kid do quite well in the East coast opener tonight...3rd in the Heat, and 8th in the Main...not too bad considering he's a privateer this year and it was his 1st AMA pro race since the 2011 outdoor season.

havnt been on here in a while, was scrolling thru and was watching Jimmys vids. There is a section in that second you tube vid "the Marshalls"...man i had some of the best riding days of my life there. Templeton, Ma. that used to be the riding mecca of Mass. those giant sand hills and bowls was the reason i bought a 500... before all the tree huggers chased all the off road weekend warriors out of there. There were days of 4 wheelin in jeeps and 4x4s.bikes , quads...cookouts, backwoods hillclimbs, bonfires, camping... no fees, no rules, just pure fun...man those were the days. I am fortunate to have and keep those memories inside.
Robbie Marshalls parents bought a good portion of that land and built Crow Hill and left the the sand pit on the other side the way it was at the time. I havnt been back in a while...as jealous as i am some of them guys have all of that to themselves, i am also glad to see real riders are still keeping it alive out here in this Nazi Commonwealth

Yeah he even qualified 7th or 8th for St Louis...kind of long shot, but would love to see him get on the podium before the end of the series. If he could do that,he could possibly get picked up by another high end sponsor, then he'll at least be on a far better equipped bike...he's still on good terms with Factory Connection,so if they need a rider, they'll call him.
-
Props to JD, he finished 12th at Daytona, NICE !! He's on a Honda ? Thought he had a KTM ride ?

no he's on red..."High Octane" Harley Davidson is his main sponsor.Daytona's almost a hometown for him...his family owns a pretty big house right on the beach....a bunch of us went down there in 09 for the races and bike week and stayed at the house. So right after St Louis, that's where he spent his time riding.
He could've done good if he did'nt tuck the front wheel in that berm :x

Decotis put in a good ride. RC gave him big props on the sweet pass he made on lap five.
Should be a great one at Indy this weekend!!!

funny to see this post...I just got off the phone with his dad about 45minutes ago....just shootin the s**t,and he reminded me what he said to me back in 2004...which was..."he's gonna take it all the way to the top...you wait and see".
Back then he was barely 5' tall and just 11yo....and ranked 1st in the NESC 85cc class.

blowing the dust off this thread...
well after being unhappy with the European deal he had, and missing the USA, family, and friends...he came back after a few short months last summer just in time to race the very "last Southwick National".
since then he hasn't done any big events...instead took a little time for himself.
he's now doing the 450 class aboard a Riverside Harley Davidson CRF.
he's still got Ryan Hughes as his trainer...one of the best in the business.
he qualified 7th in practice at Oakland...got 5th in Semi 1.
and placed 20th in the main event....considering it was his 1st race since Southwick last year, and with the amount of incredible talent in the 450 class this year...it's respectable.
hopefully by the latter end of the supercross series, he'll be riding to his very exciting potential as he had last year....and roll on into the outdoor season in the top 10.
I tried calling his dad a couple times since Oakland, but haven't had any luck.
-
Take the guy with the worst lap times at the Southwick National, put him on your local track, and watch him dominate.
Yeah, everyone at the Southwick National is fast.
Some are just way more ridiculous then others :-o
I'd settle for 20th at a Southwick National in whatever class.
-
I don't remember what place he came in at last years Southwick...I do remember him going down pretty hard on the 2nd lap. Southwick is the most energy draining track I myself have ever ridden/raced, but in the same breath, the most fun!
Back in the mid 90s before I turned "A" rider, we used to get to practice with Dowd and Doug Henry on occasion during a local NESC race.....not to dis-credit either of them guys by any means, but it really makes you take a step back and really evaluate your own riding regimen when you get lapped in a 10min practice :?.... it was so much fun watching them two toy with each other on the track...in a friendly way of course.
But it was good to see Jimmy racing at Oakland last weekend.
-
Hoping for a podium finish at this years Daytona.

Emig and Carmicheal were very impressed with his riding at last years Daytona...and his dad says he's been pushing his training harder than he's ever seen him push thus far...and said, "bottom line, he wants to win!"

good helmet cam vid at a track a couple minutes from his house just outside of Boston.
