Title: 09-12 KXF Triple clamps in a 06 KX250 ?
Post by: 89EVOBart on November 09, 2012, 08:39:39 AM
Hi Guys,

I was looking for a billet triple clamp kit for my 06 kx250... but having a hard time to find any clamps for it.

Does anyone here know if a kxf 250 09+ kit will fit? I know there is a difference in offset but i think it will improve the handling a lot....

going from 25mm offset to 21mm should help i think.... :-o as we all know, the stock handling is pretty bad.

Hi Guys,

I was looking for a billet triple clamp kit for my 06 kx250... but having a hard time to find any clamps for it.
Here are a couple places that offer clamps for the 2-strokes.

http://www.mxsouth.com/applied/applied-racing-triple-clamps-complete-kits-factory-triple-clamp.htm (http://www.mxsouth.com/applied/applied-racing-triple-clamps-complete-kits-factory-triple-clamp.htm) Pricey, but cool!

http://www.rg3suspension.com/p_triple_clamps_applications.php#Kawasaki (http://www.rg3suspension.com/p_triple_clamps_applications.php#Kawasaki) Cheaper, but still gets the job done.

Hope this helps!

As far as i know 06 come with 24.5mm offset and was changed for 09 to23.5mm offset the hot set up is 22mm ,it still gives a stable feeling ,if you ride mostly tight stuff there a mob that does a 21.5 offset, mxa tested the 21.5 mm recently .Both options are better than stock,i dont know why kawi does not use 22mm on the latest model ,everone i know that has used these combinations love em.

hmm problem....

bought a Xtrig kit this morning... thought it was the same but its not!  :|

Dont know why, but the 06 forks are 1mm thicker then the newer type forks...

so, i have a few options.... machine 0,5mm of the forks, try to machine 1mm of the clamps itself or invest some serious money in to newer type fork tubes...  :-o

If I was going to machine one of the two...it would be the clamps/tree,and even that I would be skeptical about. If you mill the clamp, you weaken it...if you mill the forks, you weaken them,AND you will change the torque spec on the clamp when tightening the forks in place.

Bad situation either way....no chance of returning the tree setup you just purchased???
