Post by: nirvanafan98 on September 03, 2012, 09:52:18 AM
I'm new , please bear with me . Need to replace my son's 1982kx 125 fork seals. I have forks seals for a 1981kx 125 and a 1983 kx 125, would either one work ? also any video around to show me how to do this ? Have a 1987 kx 500 need to replace seals also.  Can't afford shops any more . Thanks

Hello.
Sorry, your 82 seals are a 1 year only item.
81 KX125 fork seal size: 38MM X 50MM X 10.5
82 KX125 fork seal size: 41MM X 53MM X 10.5
83 KX125 fork seal size: 43MM X 55MM X 9.5/10.5/11
If you go to youtube.com and do a fork seal replacement search you will find many video's.

Just another thought.
Measure your chrome tube diameter.
If it's 41mm then my above statement is good.
If it is a different diameter, let me know.

Thanks for the information.Your help is appreciated. You are right, measured with a micrometer and your right 41mm . Are seals hard to replace ?
