Title: Engine Oil
Post by: Rowdy-Yates on September 24, 2004, 05:02:30 PM
Hey all i just like to keep bugging you for info. I Drained my oil and it came out Grey. If i remember right white means water. What does Grey mean?  Did the previous owner mabye use synthetic? Could that cause grey, or is there a mild leak through my water pump.  And How do i know if i need a new clutch. When i put it in gear it wants to jump a little. Also while not running and in gear i cannot pull in the clutch and push the bike. Could that be the whole synthetic oil theory i have???

I immediately switch to steel clutch plates in ALL of my bikes, including the 15's, as the aluminum plates do not last very long.  A side benefit is that your clutch required little adjustment over time.  You will be shocked at how much wear there is on those aluminum units when you pull the clutch apart.
