This thing is making me nut;s,
I put a jet tube in the carb, new plug,fresh mix, fresh oil, compression good, could float stick in carb? leaned it over to dump excess gas out still nothing,
crank it and crank it and nothing,
stock 86 KX 500 B2,
someone help me on this,

Many questions need further details.
1) What do you mean by "I put a jet tube in the carb" ?
2) What exactly is "good compression" if you are measuring "good" compression by your right leg this doesn't cut it. Tons of novice 2 stroke riders claim they have "good" compression, only to find out after using a correct compression gauge they only have about 100 psi of compression which is inadequate and suggests a worn or blown top end.
3) like others commented you need to CHECK THE SIMPLE THINGS FIRST. Check for spark, check for fuel flow, check the spark plug and see if it is gas soaked.

My 86 was very surly right out of the truck. To get it going I had to rock it back and forth in second a few times, crank the starter up to tdc and then kick it for all I was worth. I went through kickstarters almost as fast as boots, but it usually came to life after a couple of times.

You probably had weak compression. i'm 155 lbs, and after a precise method of preparation my KX500 starts with 2 or 3 kicks cold, and one kick hot.

You are probably right. I was not a good friend to that bike. Trying to be better with the new one.

hey polar (that jet tube) the only thing I can think of is some type of dial a jet unless he was talking about the pilot jet it sort of resembles a tube and if he put too small a of pilot jet in that would explain why its not starting too

1986 had the Round Slide Mikuni....he could also be referring to the "Jet Needle" commonly called the "Tube"
