Title: Im about to give up on my K5.
Post by: twosmokerider116 on May 25, 2012, 01:33:03 PM
So I went in to replace the head gasket. Noticed the cylinder was worn. Took the shop and he said it doesnt need much but some honing. Put cyclinder back on bike with new top end gaskets and rings. I noticed that the piston was pretty tight in the cylinder. But continued anyways, And now its like it has WAY too much compression. I mean I can kick it TDC-BCD all day but now with enough kick behind it. I dont have  the strength to  possibly kick it the way I used to. Should I put the old rings in it?Please help.

I you have the money I would contact Larry about the decompress valve mod.
About the rings I would find out the clearance gap spec and file them down.
Don't give up on the old girl
