Does the 1986 kx500 shaft, does it support any other models for kickstarters assy pedals? if so, i'm missing one and need to get one asap. Thanks!

Hello.
I think I originally recommended this site to you
Unfortunately the only info I have is what I gave to you.
The shaft fits 85-04 KX500 so it stands to reason that a newer kick lever will bolt on to the 86 shaft.
What I don't know is how the newer kick lever will interact with the 86 chassis.
Here is a pic of the 86 Kick lever:

It's just a guess but I bet they will interchange just fine.

Alright then. So, it looks like im gonna try and get a kickstarter for my bike. doesnt matter the year. I'm gonna try it. and if it works i will tell ya.

I just measured the splines on a 86.
They are approximately 19.85mm OD and has 30 splines.
I just measured the splines on a 98.
They are approximately 19.75mm OD and has 30 splines.
So, I know that for sure a 86 will bolt on a newer shaft.
Please let us know what you find and I'll update my interchange info.
