Title: Recommendations on plug wrench
Post by: smithpa68 on May 11, 2012, 02:28:25 PM
Any recommendations on a plug wrench for the KX500.   I bought that reversible one from Motion Pro, but it doesn't work on the 500.  There is a part of the cylinder head that sticks up and you can't "ratchet it".     What are you guys using?  ( I have the stock gas tank).   I looked for an OEM but they are EXPENSIVE.

msr makes a flat closed end wrench that works fine for all of my bikes

I really like this one. I cut about an inch off of the hand to shorten it and it work great.  I don't think the ratcheting wrench is necessary. It only take about a half turn and the plug is loose enough to turn out by hand.
