Title: Plastic Welding Fenders
Post by: Brute on April 26, 2012, 03:10:38 PM
Wayyyyy back when I took welding in college we joked about plastic welding. Then came repairing plastic with a soldering iron, now there are nice air plastic welders. I have one. Having done fairing repairs, I was wondering if anyone had tried ?welding? on the fenders? I am going to plate mine, so need the fender to hang down over the tire some. I have a local line on a couple fenders to try and modify, but if there is experience out there I would like to hear about it!

I would just buy the Tusk taillight assy, it hangs down and looks good with the 2000 kx250 fender.

+1 for the Tusk kit.  I used one on my KLX450 and it works out great.  Back fender is a bit crooked though.

That fender was a UFO and lost it's life in a failed hill climb.  I replaced it with an OEM Kawi part that is somewhat straighter.

It's a KLX450.  Sure not a 500 but it does have electric start.  LOL
