Okay... I need a flashlight. (think my cousin stole my Surefire) all I have are old BIG Mag Lights. and I realized... Hmm its dark ontop of a mountain in colorado..
Need..
LED
BRIGHT...
lasts a while.
doesnt weigh 50lbs.
Durable.. (I actually used my Maglight as a jack stand for my Truck once... in a pinch)
Doesnt cost as much as a top end job on a Kx500

I love my Olight M21. 500 lumens, can be used to kill people. I also have an M20. I will never buy another surefire. They are trash and overpriced. I bought this one on Amazon for $100. Buy the rechargable battery kit too. I also used it as my helmet light during the 24hr last fall :-D
Good luck

The M20S-X looks like a nice light.. I think I like the "Button" for mode change rather than dicking with the bezle... 500lumins.. would kill people

I've been thinking about one of these for work! There are other brands that look more powerful that clip on and off underneath the brim. Very light weight!

I carry one of these in my semi http://www.homedepot.com/Tools-Hardware-Safety-Security-Flashlights/h_d1/N-5yc1vZarr0/R-100677965/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051 It runs on triple a batteries comes with an extra set of batteries. I had a rechargeable flashlight like the police use and this little light casts a light that is comparable. It also has a red led that I like to use inside the cab to read the gauges when I don't want to ruin my night vision.

Did I mention, Don't look at it when its on! That little jewel is sweet, there is a place I stop to check my load before I get on the asphalt hwy after quite a few miles of gravel hwy (yea we still got em here) that is just a few miles from where Liz on swamp people hunts, so being able to spot those evil red eyes during a night stop is a priority... I tried to mark it on google maps but couldn't figure out how to embed it.

You can get the same things from china for far cheaper. All that matters is the emitter and the driver ;) Made in china anyway.
They will also sell you the bare emitters, drivers, and batteries if you want to upgrade one of your own, but their nice stainless waterproof bodies are so cheap theres not much reason to bother.

I can get half of retail on LED Lenser flashlights if anyone's interested. Yeah, they're made in China :-( Quality is as good as any though.
I carry a P17 as a Maglite replacement.

Not as bright as some, but really nice beam/focus system and excellent battery life.
