Was playing around with the embroidery software and made this up. Put a 7" version on the back of one of my shirts. Took an hour and a half to stitch! 37K plus stitches.

-
HA HA HA that would make a bad ass sticker!!
-
I want one! That is awesome.
-
If you wanted to make some to sell I'd be interested! My embroidery machine messed up a long time ago software crashed on the computer and don't have the backup disk to restore it lol.
-
Got to revise it some as it was breaking thread by going back over, and over, area's. Not sure what is going on there. I made a few other patterns but have not put them on anything yet. The worst part is baby sitting the machine for an hour and a half to make sure it has thread, has not broken thread, bla, bla, bla. If I get to where they are not so user un-friendly to make I will post about it and may be willing to make some if you guys want.
-
what was the out come of this Brute?...too much of a pain in the a$$?....I'd love to get one, as I'm sure several of us would too!
-
Hmmm. Had a computer go down with the stuff on it and just in the last couple weeks got most loaded up on the new one. Have not messed with the embroidery designs for some time as the computer was dying. Let me see if I still have the thumb drive with the info for this on on it. You looking for a patch or something on a shirt?
-
something along the lines of what you posted would be cool...I'm ok with it being a patch if it makes your life easier. I'm lookin for something to put on a riding jersey, so a patch would probably be the way to go.
-
I DO have the files so should be able to plug into the machine and sew these out. I can change colors easily and sizes fairly easy.
The one I took the picture of was a 7" on the back of a shirt as an experiment. While it stitched out ok, I nicked the shirt while cutting a thread, then later washed it without thinking about it and tossed it in the dryer. the thread is all cotton and when it shrinks it wrinkles the pattern all up. Oops. Patches don't usually shrink up because the backing material is stiff enough it will hold the shape even when washed.
Was working on a crossed up dirt bike shadow image when I put it all aside and the computer started acting up.
For me, after doing it I decided I would not wear the 'finger' image out in public as it is a bit rude. I don't want some kids mom not letting her kid talk to me about riding because of my patch. Just me. I would be glad to do either patches or jacket/shirt. I will look into patch material with an iron on back as well.
Between the last update to the program and the length of time it has been since I worked with it I am having to relearn to use the program. Sucks!
-
excellent!...I'm thinkin 7"ish would be plenty big enough...iron on sounds like a possibility, how well do you think an iron on would hold up on the back of a Fox riding jersey?
I'm totally unfamiliar with the process...so forgive my lack of knowledge...but I do like how it looks.
-
Iron on patches is just an adhesive added to the back of the patch. Most of the time they get ironed on then a few hand stitches are put in just to secure the edges a bit more. Iron on's usually start lifting and coming off in time. At work there is quite a 'patch' network and all the ones I have seen are sew on only. Usually hand sewn on.
The other option is direct embroidery sewing onto the jacket. It has to be 'hooped' (as does all fabric, patch or otherwise) which is a frame with an inner and outer clamping piece to hold it tight. A backing material (stabilizer) is put on the inside and stretched with the fabric so it is tight or it will not stitch out well. When it is done stitching the extra stabilizer fabric is removed.
Patches are easier in one way. If the machine messes up while stitching out, you loose a patch. If it does it on a jacket you are pulling out the stitches at best. The worse is it cuts the fabric while messing up. Let me run some patches and see how they turn out.
Looks like I did not post a picture of the small patch I made a while back. Here it is. Any colors can be used.

-
cool... thanks Brute, sounds like the patch will be the way to go for me.
I'll take the time to think of a color combo while you're running some tests.
-
What about replacing the hand with the Punisher skull or variant of it. I never thought about someone not wanting their kids to communicate with us over the finger on our jersey. I still want one but I'll put it on something else. So if you make a friendlier version I'll take one or 2 of those as well.
-
Whew! Took a bit but got some patches and a skull cap made. Not happy with the patch edges yet but may not get any better with what I have. Put an fusible (put on with an iron) adhesive back on them. Never used it before so can not say how well it works :-o

they're lookin pretty good to me Brute...sent you a PM.
-
Here are the patches I have made. Not sure if I will be making more so if you would like send me a PM with your name and address and I will mail the patch(s) to you 'no charge'. The colors in the picture are all I have. Be specific in your PM on which one(s) you want. 1 or 2 fit in an envelope nicely. Multiple copies shown are stacked on top of one another. I tried the heat activated adhesive on a patch today and it sticks like crazy! I may make more, just no plans at this point. Finally got around to making a less offensive one.

Got my patches from Brute in the mail today. I will say, the quality of them is absolutely incredible....they're perfect in every way!...he even included a note with directions on using the adhesive backing.
I just want to say thank you for taking the time out of your day to make these for us to enjoy!.
I couldn't be any happier with how they look, and the price was right :-D....hopefully someday I can return the favor!
Thank You again Brute!! :-D

-
Glad you like them! Made one with a 'Punisher' type skull but want to tweak is some more. I will post a pic when i get it where I like it.
-
So here is the latest 'safe' version. For a while anyway. Discovered nearly ALL my old digitized files got corrupted, including the 'finger' version. Sucks.
Can do different stitch colors but the background will be black as that is the fabric I have on hand. Tried the fancy lettering but ended up with the block style. Thanks Goat for suggesting the 'Punisher' style skull. My new favorite!
I am making them 3.5" but can do larger if you want. Could sew direct on to clothing as well.
If you want a couple sent to you tell me the colors you want and I will whip them out and send them. That goes for you guys that wrote me about a skull version too since the patch has changed. I will do adhesive back unless you specify sewn on.
1. Ring or no ring
2. outer lettering
3. KX 500
4. skull
5. eyes
-
Brute nice work homeboy would def like to be patched up.
-
those look cool too...the colored-in eyes really stands out.
-
Will get the new requests put together and sent off at no charge. Glad you guys like them!
-
Colored eyes and punisher skull for the win! Those look sweet. Glad I could help out.
Got my middle finger patches. Very good quality. Nice work. Thank you
-
Foxx, Goat, Mud and Alex, got a couple of the new one's on the way to you. Will work on more tomorrow.
Good to see the new one stitching out like it is supposed to. Amazing that they used to do this by hand. Almost 7K stitches in this patch!
If the machine was not easy to thread and did not thread the needle by itself I would not do it! Tech is cool!
-
Awesome Brute...that's a nice surprise!...again, thank you very much!!
-
SAWEET!!! I'm super excited. These are gonna look good on my riding gear. Thank you so much for taking the time to make cool patches for everyone. I'm sure everyone is very grateful.
-
Motorrad, sent you a PM.

I think we ought to see how many different unusual or unique places that patch can show up at :-)
-
Anybody been watching Coast Guard Cape Disappointment on the weather channel? It features the Coast Guard in the NW. If u are keep an eye out for yours truly, the Movember stasch will make an appearance too. I can find some more cool places to take pics with the patch. Should do a kxriders.com patch too.
-
Idea's? Just KXriders or with something else? Were there patches at some point?

Made up three designs. Will post pics tonight to see what the feel is on them. 8-) Getting faster at the design stuff.
-

-
Sent you a PM.

First KXriders one. Not just KXriders though. KX500!
-
Second one. Using the 'punisher' theme. Am going to do a square one I think with just KXriders.com on it.
-
Third one keeping with the KX500 on it but having a . (dot) for .com.

KXriders.com square

Or another version of the 'Punisher' style.
I like this one. May sew it onto the back of one of my jackets.

Popped out a fleece skull cap just a bit ago.

Crap! Now I like this one better.

-
I like it.
How about adding a flying M for the tongue? :-D
-
d**n Brute, you're going to town on this stuff!!....I think it all looks awesome...keep up the madness!
-
Made a couple skull caps. Ran out of black fleece so went to burgundy. Irish Death beer while sewing makes it, well, anything really, better! (http://i57.tinypic.com/befsef.jpg) Not sure about the "M" in the tongue. Would be pretty small but it could be done.
-
Very nice work. I love my patches. Haven't had a chance to put them on anything yet. Crunch time to get my truck project done as Pinball game production is officially 2 weeks away.
-
DUDE. Costing me money. I have to go buy new Jackets worthy enough of this kind of awesome!..
Your the man!
