Title: 1989 kawasaki kx250 frame with a motor out of a 96 kx500
Post by: golash on February 10, 2012, 08:00:18 AM
Hi
I just saw an ad for a kx 250 the same year as mine. Does anyone know if the
96 engine fits without major modifications. If my engine self destructs it might
be nice to have the option of adding a newer engine.

Thanks

Hi All

For everyone`s general information. I just got the word from the owner of the 1989 kx 250 frame
with the 500cc 1996 engine. He mentioned there were no frame modifications at all. The only
change was reversing the front motor mounts. Sounds interesting.

250 frames from 87 or 88 up to and including 89 are same as 500 88-04 as far as I'm aware.hth,K.
